SIZE
- If you do not know your
ring size, simply get a piece of cotton or string and wrap around
your finger at the place where you will wear your ring. Mark the
cotton or string where they meet, and measure with a ruler. This
will be the circumference - we always state this measurement so you
can see if the ring is the correct size or not. Make sure that this
is large enough to go over your finger joint. Please note that
temperatures can affect ring size - it can be useful to measure when
you finger is both warm and cold and take an average.
TUNGSTEN CARBIDE
- Tungsten carbide is three
times stiffer than steel, denser than both steel and titanium and
heavier. It is an extremely hard material - on the Mohs Scale
it is 8.5 to 9. When you consider diamond is 10, you can see just
how hard it is! Due to this it cannot be resized. Unlike steel and titanium,
it is considered scratch free and is gaining much popularity in its
use in rings. However whilst it wont scratch, it will shatter - drop
it on a hard surface such as tiles or concrete and it can shatter
into small pieces. And being so hard, in emergency tungsten carbide
rings cannot be cut off in the normal way - they have to be cracked
off with tools such as mole grips.
